Wellborn Baptist Church was founded in 1910 as a place where Christ followers could gather to Worship Jesus, Grow in His grace and truth, and Go out into the world sharing His love. Our Beliefs
We believe that the Bible is true and tells the redemptive story
of God and His great love for mankind

We believe there is one God existing in three persons:
Father, Son, Holy Spirit
​
We believe God made you and that He loves you.
​
We believe God is absolutely perfect, we are not,
and that sin separated us from Him.
​
We believe God took on flesh; the virgin birth of Jesus.
​
We believe Jesus lived a perfect life that we could not.
​
We believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin.
​
We believe that Jesus rose from the dead
to offer us true and eternal life.
​
We believe that Jesus offers this grace gift of eternal and abundant life to everyone who believes and confesses that Jesus is Lord.
​
We believe that Jesus has called all believers to worship Him,
love one another, and to go tell others about Jesus.
​
We believe one day Jesus is coming back again.

Our Staff
Senior Pastor
Robert Bass
Robert C. Bass was called to Wellborn Baptist Church in November 2023. He has been a pastor in the local area for over twenty years and is a veteran of the United States Air Force. After hearing the Lord call him to ministry, Robert attended Southeastern Baptist Seminary, earning a Master’s Degree in Divinity.

Passionate about discipleship, preaching the Word and sharing the truth about Jesus Christ, Robert is outgoing and rarely meets a stranger. He met his wife in 2008 and they were married June 2010. Twelve years later they were surprised and blessed by the arrival of their daughter Clara. They live in Live Oak on a small farm. Robert enjoys hunting, fishing, and farm life. His vast life experiences provide valuable insight into the lives of others and eye-opening illustrations to his sermons.
Robert, Rebekah, and Clara look forward to all the Lord has here at Wellborn. They also personally invite you to join us in worshipping Jesus, encouraging you in a closer relationship with your Savior.
Student Pastor
Alex Felton
Pastor Alex has been on staff at Wellborn Baptist since February 2019. He has served in student ministry for over a decade in Florida and South Georgia. He earned his Bachelor's in Ministry from the Baptist College of Florida and has a deep passion for discipling students, seeing them grow both in life and even more so in his and her walk with Jesus.
He and his wife Karen, an elementary school teacher, have four daughters: Avery, Bailey, Chloe, Davie, one son-in-law, Sean, one grandson, Luca, and a brown standard Poodle named Charlee. Alex enjoys Tinkering, Cooking, Writing Fishing, & Roasting Coffee.

Worship Pastor
Tim Scott
Pastor Tim has been involved in music ministry for over 30 years. He rejoined the staff at Wellborn Baptist for the 3rd time in 2018. He has had the privilege to bivocationally serve and worship with the Wellborn Baptist family for over a decade.
Tim wed his beautiful wife Renee' 35 years ago (and Yes! Tim knows she is your favorite) Together Tim and Renee’ have two amazing daughters and two lucky son-in-laws, Madison and John John, Morgan and Ross. They also have one grandson, Easton (thanks to Morgan and Ross.). In his free time you can often find Tim out on the lake with my family or in his garage restoring his 69 Olds. (although that seems to be (ls!) taking decades...) Tim strives for the music program at Wellborn Baptist to involve, encourage, and bring people closer in his or her walk with God.

Secretary
Linda Whittle
Linda and her husband Carroll joined Wellborn Baptist Church January of 2003. She retired from Alachua General Hospital in 2006 after working there as an Unit Secretary for 17 years. She grew up in south Florida and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in November of 1969. She was later baptized in the Atlantic Ocean on Hollywood beach, in Hollywood, Florida.

She and her husband Carroll have been married for 56 years and have 3 adult children, 7 grand-children, 4 great grand-children, and 1 miniature dachshund named Callie.
Linda enjoys reading, loves animals, has a passion for serving the church and relishes being Memaw to her grand and great grand children.
